Retro Fitting Door Top alarms

200-250 Door top alarms supplied and fitted:

These are required to be fitted to prevent deaths from ligatures using bedroom doors and other identified doors that cannot easily be monitored

We require a system that can be retrofitted into an existing door set.

The system works by fitting an Aluminum compression strip across the length of the door top which has a sprung mechanism which once depressed activates a micro-switch which completes a circuit to activate an alarm. Normally the system is connected to the staff attack alarm system.

Once fitted the staff attack alarm system must be connected and programmed to respond. Finally, it must be commissioned once the installation is completed which provides the customer with some reassurance that the installation is in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.

A secondary alarm system may need to be fitted to activate when the door top alarm is also activated.

The sites that require these alarms are

• Brooker centre - Runcorn

• Broadoak Unit - Liverpool ( these require replacement doors as the current doors are not compatible

• Hollins Park Hospital -Warington

• Knowsley resource and recovery- Whiston

• Peasley Cross Hospital - St Helens

• Rathbone Rehab and LSU - Liverpool

• Hope centre - Liverpool

• Brain Injuries Unit- Aintree

• Heys Court ( as per Broadoak )
