South Tees Development Corporation (STDC) is planning to modify, replace and extend parts of the high voltage distribution infrastructure on the Teesworks Site as part of a major redevelopment of the former iron and steelmaking establishment. One aspect of these plans includes the installation of two new 66,000 Volt (66kV) feeder cables within the Redcar site to allow for land clearance of an area through which the current 66kV cables are routed. For the purpose of this document, the name Teesworks will be used as a reference for the site and its personnel.

To support this aim STDC is looking for a suitable contractor to undertake a turnkey project for the engineering design, procurement, construction, testing commissioning and management of all aspects involved for the installation of the feeder cables. This will include the required civils works in addition to the work associated with cable installation and connection. The project is of strategic importance for the arrival of a major investor to the site as part of the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) development and will involve key milestone dates which will form part of the requirements of the formal tender when issued in May 2023.
