The Ministry of Defence (hereafter referred to as the Authority) has an enduring requirement to support Aviation Workshops at multiple RAF sites across the UK. In order to manufacture components in support of routine maintenance and modifications to Aircraft and Aircraft equipment the capability to mill bespoke parts is required. The Authority has a requirement to purchase new Milling Machines and Vertical Machining Centres.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The Ministry of Defence (hereafter referred to as the Authority) has an enduring requirement to support Aviation Workshops at multiple RAF sites across the UK. In order to manufacture components in support of routine maintenance and modifications to Aircraft and Aircraft equipment the capability to mill bespoke parts is required. The Authority has a requirement to purchase new Milling Machines and Vertical Machining Centres. This shall include the ability to purchase:

• CNC Turret Mills fitted with the MillPwr G2 CNC control,

• 1600mm Vertical Machining Centre

• 1000mm Vertical Machining Centre

• 600mm Vertical Machining Centre

• Options to purchase 4th Axis Rotary Units and 4 + 1 (5th) Axis Rotary Units.

Delivery would be to various MOD sites across the UK, as part of Machine delivery and commissioning the Contractor is to provide 2 days of on-site training to 3 staff members for each of the delivered machines.

The Contractor shall also supply and deliver the tooling packages for each new CNC Turret Mills and Vertical Machining Centres delivered.

All machines are to be delivered with CE certificates of conformity or UK equivalent . The Contractor must be certified to ISO:9001 (2015) against the appropriate processes, including machine operator training.

The Contract will be Three (3) year in duration.

For potential suppliers to place a bid for this requirement all tenderers must show interest via completion of the DPQQ. The DPQQ is to be completed via the Defence Sourcing Portal at the following link https://www.contracts.mod.uk/go/3257179001798E9B7BCE. The deadline for submitting your response(s) is 09/07/2021.

In line with the MoD cyber protection policy and Def Stan 05-138 a risk assessment has been conducted (RAR-YWET56V7) and this project has been deemed as “None Applicable”.
