two.2.4) Description of the procurement
It is the intention of the Bedford, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care System to award a contract to one provider for a nutrition supply service, comprising the supply of pumps/sets, feed, delivery and nursing service for patients managed by Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Cambridgeshire Community services NHS Trust and Bedford, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board.
Subject to the provision of the Terms and Conditions, this Contract shall remain in force for the period of 36 months with the option of a rollover for a further 24 months from the commencement date set out in the contract. The Authority is engaged with the early scoping of the enteral feeds / nutrition supply services market by the NHS England Strategic Category Management team and would seek to work collaboratively with the awarded Supplier to utilise any output from this national project at the earliest opportunity.
The expectation of this Contract is for the Trusts to receive their feeds and consumables to each of their hospital sites and a home delivery service for patients in the Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes geographical area and up to 5 miles from this boundary. There shall be a small number of patients who will require deliveries outside the above stated boundaries.
The Supplier’s products, pumps, equipment and ancillaries shall be used except for any instance where, at the sole discretion of the responsible Authority clinician, they do not meet the clinical requirements of the patient.
