Specialist Seating

The Authority provides a range of adaptations and equipment for Customers following an Assessment of Need carried out by an Occupational Therapist.

Equipment is purchased by the Authority and supplied to Customers on a loan basis, designed to promote personal independence, safety and mobility.

This provision is supplied through the Authority’s Adaptations & Loan Equipment Service (ALES) which is based in the Borough of North Tyneside.

Contractors shall provide a range of seating solutions, which will include Riser Recliners, Care Chairs and chairs for Bariatric Customers.
