This project will develop a Electric Vehicle Charging Points (EVCP) network across approximately 35-40 public car park locations. The aim is to award to a single supplier and partner together to create a series of Charging Hubs, whereby groups of EVCP’s are installed to cater for both visitor use and resident charging overnight. While we want to provide a minimum of 4 Fast (7kWh) EVCP’s at each location, additional speeds may be required to cater for shorter stays and destination charging use.

The individual contracts will be in form of concession contracts where the supplier will fund the entire works and provide a revenue share back to the Council. Government grants (namely On-street Charging Scheme or Transport Scotland) will be applied for as part of the project, but supplier responses should not be dependent on grants being awarded. A long-term partnership of 12 years is sought in order to incentivise suppliers to invest in the network and to ensure continuity for the years ahead.
