two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Medical assessment services for all pre-entry candidates to the Royal Navy (RN), Royal Marines (RM) and Reserves is required to support the recruitment process until 2027.

The requirement includes:

• Managing health care records

• Administering Sickle Cell Trait tests

• Assessing suitability of Royal Marines' (RM) candidates to undertake Pre-Joining Fitness Assessment

• Conducting face-to-face medical assessments

• Administering Full Blood Count tests for Diver candidates

• Administering Echocardiogram tests

The face-to-face medical assessments comprise the core of the requirement and following a preliminary assessment, must be delivered at RN-chosen Candidate Preparation Centres by suitably qualified healthcare and medical personnel.

It is anticipated that a tender for this requirement is to be issued in Q1 of 2024/25.
