Haringey Council ("the Council") invites tenders from General Practitioners to deliver the provision of Public Health commissioned General Practitioners Prevention Services.

The aim of the services is to improve the health of Haringey residents and reduce health inequalities by providing services that are tailored to local health needs and improve outcomes of residents in their communities.

Haringey General Practices may apply to be registered as a provider of the Enhanced Service for Intra-Uterine Contraceptive Device Fitting (IUCD) if they meet the eligibility criteria for both the practice (premises and systems) and for individual clinicians providing the service.

This is an 'Open Access' service for Haringey residents registered with a GP in Haringey, this implies that residents may access this service from participating surgeries irrespective of whether they are registered with the provider surgery.

The focus of the Stop Smoking services within GP practices is to offer: Very Brief Advice (VBA) and one to one support to local residents who want to give up smoking.

The Service shall improve access for Haringey residents to stop smoking support and where appropriate, supply Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) and pharmacological interventions as prescribed by their GP. Complex clients requiring specialist support shall be referred to the specialist service at One You Haringey.

The contract shall run for a period four (4) years with an option to extend for a further period or periods of up to a total of four (4) years in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract, and subject to satisfactory performance.

For avoidance of doubt, the maximum length of the contract would be eight (8) years, if extended. Anticipated contract start date will be 1st October 2022.
