Description

Further to our previous Prior Information Notice, NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) is seeking to engage further with potential suppliers of Donation Chairs, Couches, Session Privacy Screens and the associated Maintenance of these items. NHSBT is a Special Health Authority that provides a blood and transplantation service to the NHS, looking after blood donation services in England and transplant services across the UK. NHSBT intends to establish a Framework Agreement with various lots which support the collection of Whole Blood, Apheresis Donation, and Plasma for Medicine, and the provision of Therapeutic Apheresis Services. The Framework will be split into the following Lots: LOT 1: Donation Chairs: Supply of current Chair Replacement Parts Only LOT 1.1: Maintenance and repair service for the existing fleet of Donation Chair component parts, including transport trolleys. LOT 2: Supply of new chairs & parts used for the collection of whole blood and including transport solutions, LOT 2.1: Maintenance and repair service for supply of new Donation Chairs, and associated transport solutions, used for the collection of whole blood. Lot 3: Supply of Donation Chair/Couch & Parts used for the used for the collection of Platelets, concurrent plasma and occasionally whole blood. In the future, these will be used for the collection of Plasma for Medicine. Lot 3.1: Maintenance & repair service for the existing Apheresis Donation Couches used for the collection of Platelets, concurrent plasma and occasionally whole blood. LOT 3.2: Maintenance & repair service for the supply of new chairs/couches used for the collection of Platelets, Concurrent Plasma and occasionally Whole Blood. Lot 4: Apheresis patient Couch: Supply of Couch and Parts Lot 4.1: Maintenance & Repair of Apheresis patient Couch: Supply of Couch and Parts (chairs, couches, trolleys, cabinets etc this is not an exhaustive list) Lot 5: Supply of new session privacy screens Lot 6: Maintenance service for roll cages and session solutions cabinets

Engagement process description

Prior to commencing a formal procurement process and to help inform our strategy/requirements, NHSBT would like to consult the market. It is our intention to invite those organisations who express an interest in this notice to a supplier engagement meeting to be held in April/May 2025 (date to be confirmed). Please express your interest by no later than 5pm on 24th April 2025 to rowena.thomas@nhsbt.nhs.uk and carley.butcher@wales.nhs.uk. There is no guarantee that a formal procurement process will be launched as a result of this early market engagement exercise, nor that any contract(s) will be placed. No remuneration or compensation etc will be paid to organisations who take part in this early market engagement exercise. Suppliers should take part in this process only on the basis that they fully understand and accept this position.
