two.1.4) Short description

The Defra Noise Modelling System (NMS) has been designed, built, hosted and managed to date under a single supplier framework.
This contract covers five main areas:
1. Hosting, supporting and managing the NMS, including data and software licensing, cloud services, backups, security patching, etc.
2. Handover provision, to ensure a seamless continuous provision of service
3. Pilot – the NMS is to be piloted with a number of users before the full launch that has been agreed by Ministers
4. Provision of datasets (accompanied by appropriate documentation and coding) to allow Defra to carry out R&D activities
5. Preparation for Round 5 mapping – Defra has a legal requirement to deliver noise maps across the country in 5 yearly intervals, known as rounds. Preparation for Round 5 must commence in 2025 to have any chance of meeting the legal deadline for delivering these maps.
