The decision to award this contract was made by NHS England Regional Commissioning Group. There were no Conflicts of Interest.
The key criteria that NHS England commissioners used in the decision making process and the importance to delivery of the service was;
Quality and Innovation - The current service is of a high quality, this is evidenced in the Quality schedule, this level of quality will continue in the new contract. Innovation is evidenced in the current contract and initiatives are in place to enable this innovation to continue in the new contract.
Value - The provider demonstrated value for money. The contract value was benchmarked against similar contracts and the new contract is considered value for money.
Integration, collaboration and service sustainability - The service is embedded into the local systems which enables patients to access any necessary onwards support this will continue in the new contract. There is good stakeholder engagement which will continue. The service demonstrates sustainability and will continue to do so.
Improving access, reducing health inequalities and facilitating choice - The service improves access for this client group to NHS services, this will continue in the new contract.
Social Value - The provider has demonstrated an understanding of Social Value requirements and commissioners were satisfied this will continue in the new contract.
