Description
Some NHS organisations have in-house Sterile Services and Endoscopy Decontamination facilities (SSD) the building fabric of which requires updating or replacing. In order to maintain compliant services, NHS organisations may choose to outsource the SSD provision or to invest in the development of new in-house facilities.
This Framework Agreement offers a solution for NHS organisations wishing to invest in the development of new in-house facilities. The Framework Agreement allows NHS organisations to procure a Supplier to design, build and equip a new facility from which decontamination services would be provided; provide a managed service for ongoing facilities management and maintenance of the new building facility; and provide a continuing managed service for ongoing maintenance, availability and renewal of the decontamination services machinery, equipment and surgical instruments and supplies.
A new facility could utilise traditional construction methods, Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) or conversion of an existing building, and could be located on site, or off site depending on client requirements.
The Supplier may also be required to provide finance to enable the design and/or build and/or equip of a new facility.
