Section six. Complementary information

six.3) Additional information

The Programme and Project Partners (PPP) are undertaking a procurement exercise to appoint Key Delivery Partner(s) to deliver the combined Scaffolding, Insulation, Painting elements of work as one package. This exercise forms part of the PPP’s Multi Project Procurement (MPP) programme and will result in the placement of an 16 (sixteen) year framework contract(s), aligned with PPP’s long-term objectives.

The procurement programme will commence with a period of market engagement that will inform the interested parties of the requirements of this package. A full strategy paper outlining the procurement approach, commercial model, timeline, and other important information will be available to the interested organisations at the start of the market engagement phase.

General Information about the PPP and MPP’s can be found in the following video presentation which explains how PPP and MPP influences major project delivery on the Sellafield site, including the PPP projects, the partners, the proposed MPP strategy and commercial model:

PPP MPP Supply Chain Event – You Tube – 13 Jan 2021

Also, attached for information are the slides dated January 2021, that accompany this presentation.

Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) is seen as one of the PPP’s key drivers to procure in this way, as it will enable the supply chain to have a long-term influence on the way in which projects are designed and delivered. The outcomes being projects that are delivered more safely, are better designed (innovative), of a higher quality, whilst being environmentally sympathetic, easier to maintain, delivered on time and within budget.

The 16-year framework provides an unparalleled opportunity for the PPP and supply chain to develop long-term relationships that can grow and adapt organically over time, to create a world class legacy of excellence for the design and construction of nuclear facilities.
