Glaucoma Repeat Readings

Community eye care Glaucoma Repeat Readings service will support the management of those patients requiring repeat Intra-ocular pressure readings. This will ensure that the inappropriate referrals into hospital eye services are minimised and the referral contains high quality information.

Children's Vision Service

Eye screening services are offered to all children of reception class age who are patients who

are registered with a GP Practice within the boundaries of the Clinical Commissioning Groups as listed

within the contract. Of these children a number fail the initial screening and require a further intervention.

For many children where complex eye problems are not suspected, it is appropriate that referral is made

to a community optometrist to make further assessment including a GOS Eye Test and to offer appropriate

management.

The relevant authority intends to award a contract to an existing provider under Direct Award C under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) regulations 2023.

The final contract value is still to be finalised as it is dependent on the national NHS planning guidance which is still to be released. As an indication the 2023/24 contract value is £132035.50
