two.1.4) Short description
The FCDO is seeking a Principle Contractor to deliver Electrical Infrastructure Upgrade works at FCDO’s office base in Abercrombie House, East Kilbride, Scotland.
The scope of works will likely include:
• New generator infrastructure circa 1.5MVA across two units
• New UPS infrastructure circa 2x100kVA in a 2N configuration
• New main LV panel installation of a 2000A form 4 type 6 panel of circa 58 ways including generator controls
• Strip-out of redundant electrical infrastructure throughout
• Requiring of 11 minor communications rooms and 1 major communication room
The Successful Contractor will be required to have experience in larger scale works, knowledge of high voltage and low voltage systems and working with transformers inside and outside building.
The procurement is planned to commence in the coming months, with an anticipated award date of June 2023 and contract start date of July 2023 (subject to change). The anticipated works duration is 12 months.

The requirement will be procured via the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office's e-procurement portal: https://fcdo.bravosolution.co.uk. Suppliers, not currently registered on the portal, who are interested in being considered for this opportunity must self-register on the site in order to participate — registration is free and instantaneous. Suppliers already registered on FCDO/Jaggaer will not need to re-register, but will need to complete the full suite of tender documents once issued to be considered for the opportunity.
For the avoidance of doubt, this phase of the project is not part of a formal procurement process and the contracting authority is not committing, at this stage, to carrying out such a process. The FCDO reserves the right to change the process at any stage and to undertake this procurement using alternative routes.
Participation or non-participation in this market engagement exercise shall not prevent any supplier participating in a potential future procurement, nor is it intended that any information supplied as part of this exercise shall place any supplier at an advantage in a potential procurement process. No formal assessment of capability or down selection of bidders will be carried out in relation to any responses received as a result of this.
