The City of Wolverhampton Council’s key priorities include supporting to develop ‘Strong families where children grow up well and achieve their full potential.’
The Council currently spend over £600,000 per annum on supporting young people aged 16 to 25 in accommodation with support. These includes young families where young parents and/or their children are on the edge of coming into care, emergency and homelessness prevention for young people aged 16 to 17 and supported accommodation to prepare young people to move onto their own tenancy with local housing providers.
The Council will be commissioning a new Supported Accommodation Service in 2024. As the work on the new service specification is underway, the new service is expected to be delivered from 1st April 2024 via 3 potential lots: -
Lot 1 – 16-17 not in care, and 16-25 children in care and/or care leavers with various needs
Lot 2 – Emergency and Homelessness Prevention for 16-17
Lot 3 - Young Families
The Council is seeking a contractor or contractors with a demonstrable record with relevant experience to deliver the new service.
A market engagement day has been included within the tendering process, to allow interested organisations to seek more information from the Council’s Commissioning and Procurement teams.
This exercise is not part of any pre-qualification or selection process. It is intended as an awareness, communication and information-gathering exercise offering an opportunity for potential providers to help understand commissioning intentions and offer opportunities for potential future providers to network, forge partnerships and start thinking about recovery focussed service delivery models.
The market engagement day will be held at 10am-12noon on Tuesday 25th April 2023 at the Wolverhampton Civic Centre and any organisation wishing to attend should register their interest with Emran Salah Emran.Salah2@wolverhampton.gov.uk latest by 12:00 Noon on 21st April 2023.
Please note no more than two (2) representatives to the event and include the job titles/roles of attendees and their contact details, to ensure the sessions are planned effectively and enable us to contact attendees should there be any unforeseen circumstances.
