The aim of this Request for Information (RFI) is for information to be provided to help develop a procurement strategy that will identify efficiency and will also assist with pre-qualification and/or invitation to tender process for the supply and delivery of battery equipment/portable power stations suitable for home use.
Our requirement is to source sustainable and cost-effective batteries to support vulnerable customers during power cuts. Using modern battery packs, we will introduce proactive support for customers who rely on electrically powered medical equipment. The provision of these battery packs will ensure immediate emergency power during a power cut, thus helping to keep medical equipment operational. Battery provisions may be required to operate the likes of feeding machines, CPAP machines, tele-care alarms, heart monitors, or airflow mattresses.
Our intention is for battery packs to be provided to at least 20,000 customers who use electrically powered medical equipment. These must be distributed between now and 31 March 2028.
The purpose of this engagement is for the market to provide information only.
This process of engagement is not a pre-qualification, tender nor a guarantee of any future tender opportunities. This process also does not guarantee any agreements, contracts, or delivery of the required goods.
