Bristol City Council is notifying providers about a forthcoming tender opportunity for a range of advocacy services.
Independent advocacy can assist individuals to understand their choices, make decisions and have their voice heard. Advocacy can take several forms depending on the individual’s ability and capacity to instruct an advocate.
Bristol City Council will be using the open procedure method to tender for advocacy services detailed below.
- Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy ( for adults, children and young people);
- Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy relating to Deprivation of Liberty (DoLs)
- Independent Mental Health Advocacy (for adults, children and young people),
- Advocacy for people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Communities,
- In-patient Advocacy,
- Outreach Advocacy,
- Citizen Advocacy.
Bristol City Council is moving towards commissioning its services on a more devolved locality basis. This means that the Council will be focusing the approach towards localised models of provision where organisations can demonstrate high social value and a significant community presence. The Directorate is particularly interested in new models of provision with a high user focus and where use of local assets is integral to the offer, and where there may be different provision for each locality specifically focused upon the needs of that community. It is the principle of people being able to access services within the areas they live as much as possible that we are seeking to achieve and working with providers of these services that are locally based, adding social value and reinvesting in these localities and local people.
A pre-tender event for provider is taking place on Wednesday 2nd June 2021, 10.30am - 12 noon. This will be a virtual event held on Microsoft Teams. This will be an opportunity to meet the commissioners, hear more details about the tender and the chance for potential bidders to ask questions before the tender is issued.
