seven.2) Information about modifications

seven.2.1) Description of the modifications

Nature and extent of the modifications (with indication of possible earlier changes to the contract):

The current COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in significant challenges for the Laboratory Project Team in NHS Tayside,coupled with changes within the Board and the Scottish Government approval processes has identified that it would not be possible to complete the project by July 2023.

It is Boards's intention therefore to extend the current contract for a further one year until July 2024.

seven.2.2) Reasons for modification

Need for modification brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority/entity could not foresee.

Description of the circumstances which rendered the modification necessary and explanation of the unforeseen nature of these circumstances:

Changes within the Board and the Scottish Government approval processes has identified that it would not be possible to now complete the project by July 2023 The Board therefore requires to extend the current contract for a further twelve months.
