two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The provider will need to deliver 4 clinical sessions per week of inpatient rehabilitation for patients recovering from stroke. The input will demonstrably progress the patient journey with a view to a speedier discharge from hospital.
The provider will be required to provide 2 suitably qualified therapists per session to deliver the above activity.
The provider will need to demonstrate compliance with all standard NHS pre employment checks for each individual working on the contract.
The provider will use the Bradford Teaching Hospitals Electronic Patient Record system to record all patient contact, and will use the information contained within the patient record to influence their plans of care.
The provider will provider will commit to ensuring all staff have completed mandatory training in information governance, and will be able to provide certification of insurance and/or professional indemnity.
The Trust is intending to award a contract to a existing provider following PSR (Provider Selection Regime) direct award process C.
The approximate life time value of the contract is £143,566. This extension is 4 months and value is £28,448.

Basic Selection Criteria
The ability to deliver the correct number of qualified therapists per session (2)
The ability to deliver the correct number of sessions per week (4)
The ability to demonstrate compliance with NHS standard pre-employment checks on all staff
The ability to provide and receive regular feedback from the MDT on the care being provided
The ability to undertake any mandatory training relevent to the ward area, including fire procedures and crash calls
The ability to use the Trust electronic patient record system to record all activity
Assessment of current provider
The existing provider has delivered 4 sessions per week from the start of the existing contract. This is provided by a team of 6 named professionals who have all received induction onto the unit, training on the EPR system and participate in the MDT for the patients, working to an agreed criteria for providing therapy and facilitating discharge from hospital.
The existing provider has provided documentary evidence of qualifications, DBS clearance and insurance cover for the work they undertake in the Bradford service.
Patient feedback relating to the existing provider has been excellent.
The input of the existing provider has provided a tangible performance benefit to the service through improved SSNAP scores in the therapy domains.
