This is a call for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for contractors interested in tendering for the provision of LTC-22-211 London Trams Automated Pedestrian Crossing Pilot. This EOI is being issued through the Find a Tender portal in advance of an Invitation to Tender (ITT). One supplier will be selected following the ITT.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The scope is to provide an automated pedestrian crossing system at the existing pedestrian crossing between Ampere Way and Waddon Marsh (located at exit to, Universal Motorcycle Training - Croydon - CBT, Ampere way) on the Tram Network. A behavioural study will need to be conducted before and after the system install to monitor customer behaviour. Key stakeholders will then evaluate the performance of the system as well as the behaviour of users and the safety benefit provided.
The contractor is to meet all the requirements listed below:
1. Describe the general purpose and features of the system/ or integrated products with the relevant information
2. Provide a system / or integrated products layout drawings
3. State the application conditions for the product
4. Provide the systems functional blocks with a description of each
5. Provide descriptions of all interfaces and how they will work with the system
6. Provide a description of how the safety warning system will work
7. Provide description of system monitoring, Alarm monitoring, Alerts and status capabilities, Telemetry communication types.
8. Functional description of system, include warnings and alerts (visual and acoustic) for approaching tram vehicles, Faults detection, and fault correction.
9. Describe system maintenance and inspection requirements. And provide list of
Operation, Installation, Maintenance and Functional specification documentation that is provided
10. Provide equipment costs and line replaceable items costs
11. Provide Installation Methodology, system verification and applicable standards
12. Provide illustration of any signage and wording provided
13. Provide full safety verification documentation demonstrating the suitability of the system for use on the tram network. This shall include SIL rating and justification of the chosen level (SIL 3 or higher is anticipated). Previous use cases and examples shall also be provided along with relevant safety documentation for those installations.
14. Provide behavioural study (optional)
An off-the shelf product is preferable however we are open to a design proposal.
