This contract has been awarded under the urgent circumstances provision of the Provider Selection Regime (PSR). This contract has been awarded under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 or the Procurement Act 2023 do not apply to this award.

The reason for the urgent award was due to a previous provider ceasing provision of the service at short notice and delaying the award of the contract to conduct a full application of the regime would pose a risk to patients. The award was made urgently to avoid a negative impact on treatment/diagnosis of patients with suspected cancer.

The ICB's Acting CFO approved this urgent award on the 11/07/25.
