Description
The aim is that the provider(s) will promote an integrated and seamless approach to meeting the SLCN, occupation-based and physical needs of Stockport's children and young people; equitable and needs-based provision will be delivered across the range of universal, targeted and specialist levels, organised around the five strands of the Balanced System® Framework. The entire service will be outcomes-based, and KPIs have been set accordingly. Provider(s) will ensure that services are organised around children and families and their communities, delivered in the most appropriate environment, and that needs are met by as few professionals as possible. Provider(s) will ensure that therapeutic interventions, information, advice and support are easily accessible at the earliest opportunity and that families and carers will have an opportunity to participate in the feedback and improvement of the service.
The Balanced System® requires whole system collaboration around the needs of children and young people in order to deliver improved outcomes for children and young people with SLCN, occupation-based or physical needs; therefore, Provider(s) must ensure that the appropriate skills transfer takes place across the wider workforce . Amongst the challenges presented by this commitment is the need to clearly articulate the elements of provision which sit outside a children's therapy service but which are integral to the success of an integrated approach to addressing SLCN, occupation-based, and physical needs.
Schools will be key partners to the success of delivering effective multi-agency support across the range of universal, targeted and specialist need, and may choose to purchase an enhanced service level from their own devolved or delegated budgets.
