Cardiff University is seeking an efficient, customer focused, quality Non-Hazardous (General Domestic) Waste and Recycling collection service.

Having previously adopted a contract methodology focusing on non-recyclable waste and dry mixed recycling Cardiff University has recently introduced a fully segregated waste and recycling scheme in accordance with anticipated Welsh Government legislation and supporting the move to a circular economy in Wales. We are seeking a potential Contractor to assist us in managing the successful transition to this innovative approach.

The following individual streams are collected at source:

Paper

Cardboard

Plastics

Tins & Cans

Glass

Food & disposable compostables (e.g. Vegware) combined

Wood (bulk collection)

Metal (bulk collection)

Plastics (bulk collection)

Mattresses (bulk collection)

Non-recyclables

The Contractor shall monitor and record the safe collection, treatment and final disposal of all of the above streams and must include for the supply of all labour, waste containers (e.g. wheelie/static containers), materials, transport and associated facilities to deliver the service.
