Scope
Description
The Trust is seeking to lease a further number of units that is used for the production of Hypochlorous Acid (HOCL) solution, which produces a stable decontamination and cleaning solution within a clinical healthcare environment.
The Trust has been trailing this product in conjunction with other NHS Trusts in order to establish baselines for efficacy and efficient cleaning and decontamination rates at Rampton Hospital, using a stable Hypochlorous Acid that meets the required UK Regulations and compatible for use in a healthcare setting.
Due to the Health and Safety risks of using various chemical alternatives and using existing systems, the Trust wishes to expand the scope of this project with leasing further machines for Hypochlorous Acid production around key sites at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
In addition to the machines, this procurement will also be for ancillary goods such as high grade salt, decontamination misting units, trolley systems and other items required for the delivery of this contract.

- Single supplier - technical reasons
- Additional or repeat goods, services or works - extension or partial replacement
The Trust has been trailing HOCL for at least the last 12 months, which at the time was a novel good/service for the NHS. There is very little competition at the time and for technical reasons due to the absence of competition, HOCL Health were approached.
Existing supplier suppled the original goods and wishes to buy additional machines, with the same compatibility with existing provisions. Any incompatibility of new goods/services may result in redesign and modification which may result in significant costs to the organisation.
