two.1.4) Short description

Spirit Healthcare Limited is an incumbent provider in Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB since 2019 and delivers an education service to East and North Hertfordshire patients. The contract award will ensure that this service can continue to be delivered for patients newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. The sessions are four hours long and patients have a choice of receiving them face to face or virtually.

As per the PSR direct award process C requirements, the existing provider is satisfying the existing contract and HWE ICB are satisfied that the incumbent Provider is likely to satisfy the new contract. The proposed contracting arrangements are not changing from the existing contract.

The provider delivers education session for patients newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, to support them to make healthy choices and improvements in their own health.
HWEICB intend to award a contract to the existing provider following Direct Award Process C.
The contract will be a one year plus optional one year extension. The value of the contract is £93,068 per annum.

- Delivering of the KPIs

- Effectiveness of provider to be responsive to both patient requirements and commissioner requests
- Provider innovation, rolling out new courses to support less easy to reach groups, such as offering Urdu, Gujarati and Hindi speaking courses.
