Yorkshire Ambulance service are looking to engage the market to establish a Framework Agreement consisting of a range of patient-focused transport providers who are suitably qualified, this provision is for Private Providers and Taxi services across the Yorkshire region. The service shall be used mostly by the Patient Transport Service (PTS), for patients eligible for NHS funded transport who are unable to travel to their healthcare appointments by other means due to their medical condition. This also includes discharges, transfers, admissions and low acuity transport.

six.3) Additional information

Yorkshire Ambulance Service are seeking to establish a framework of providers to transport patients that are eligible for NHS funded transport. This procurement exercise is divided into six (6) lots; these being based upon the type of vehicle and the level of patient mobility which can be allocated to each vehicle type for the conveyance of patients within the following areas: North Yorkshire, East Yorkshire, North Lincs, West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire. The lots are as follows;
Lot 1 Standard Car

A vehicle with capacity to transport a minimum of three (3) patients able to get in and out of a standard car with minimal assistance on any journey. This includes children travelling with an escort

Lot 2 Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle and Driver only

A vehicle with capacity to transport patients able to get in and out of a standard car with minimal assistance, children travelling with an escort and patients travelling in their own wheelchair.
