Explanation:
Due to the limited availability in the market of all warehouse mechanical handling equipment required and as a procurement process is underway, a direct award under regulation 33(1) (C) is proposed. The procurement process to put in place a long term contract in this area has been delayed due the requirement to meet the additional demands of the Scottish Health and Social Care sector during the current Covid-19 pandemic and is for reasons of extreme urgency brought about by events unforeseeable by the contracting authority in line with Regulation 33(1)(c) of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015.
