two.1.4) Short description

Powys County Council (“the Council”) is seeking to engage with suitably experienced and competent Providers to provide the Powys Community Equipment Service. Powys County Council and Powys Teaching Health Board wish to commission an appropriate provider to operate the Powys Community Equipment Service for a period of three years with an option to extend for a further two years. The Powys Community Equipment Service is provided under a Partnership Agreement between Powys County Council and Powys Teaching Health Board, with Powys County Council acting as the Lead Commissioner. The Community Equipment Service provides a range of disability and technology enabled care equipment for Powys residents for use in their own homes and, for a limited range of equipment, for use in residential and nursing homes.

Powys County Council (“the Council”) is seeking to engage with suitably experienced and competent Providers to provide the Powys Community Equipment Service.

The Provider will comply as a minimum with the relevant standards and outcomes listed in Section 4 of the service specification that are Core Standards from the Code of Practice for Disability Equipment, Wheelchair and Seating Services and the International Code of Practice for Planning, Commissioning & Providing Technology Enabled Care Services.

The Provider shall achieve CECOPS Accreditation status within one year of contract award.

The Provider should be CHAS / SSIP accredited and Constructionline verified, or equivalent.
