These projects may be innovative, seasonal or focus on bringing communities together. They may be enriching activities for children that do not fit within a traditional childcare setting. They may be partnership projects that combine HAF funding with other funding streams.

For specialist activities, Providers must set out how they will meet relevant national requirements, such as having appropriately qualified staff for, for example, canoeing or horse-riding activities.

Activity sessions must be structured around the age and assessed level of needs of children and young people accessing the service. Food must be provided as set out in the specification requirements.

The selected projects will be made available for eligible families/children to select and book places on free of charge. There is no guarantee that the maximum number of families/children will take up the provisions.
