** THIS ADVERT IS FOR A MARKET ENGAGEMENT EVENT **
NHS Derby & Derbyshire Integrated Care Board (DDICB) have extended the current Non-Emergency Patient Transport services (NEPTS) contract with East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) for a period of 12 months to 31st March 2024 via a Regulation 72 variation to the existing contract. The reason for this extension covers several uncertainties, including but not limited to:
• Potential lack of lease vehicle acquisitions that may impact on the mobilisation of a successful provider if procured in 2022/23
• The ongoing National review around eligibility criteria for patient transport services
• The requirement to further engage with care providers to ensure that the capacity procured supports the ongoing NHS recovery e.g., increased discharges, longer clinic hours and additional weekend clinic slots
• Following the movement of the Glossop catchment area from Tameside and Glossop CCG into the Derby & Derbyshire jurisdiction on 1st July 2022, changes or alignment of Glossop PTS provision was not permitted to occur prior to 1st July 2023
In recognition of the above the points, DDICB have extended current contractual arrangements for a period of 12 months to 31st March 2024 whilst undertaking a full, open and transparent procurement in 2023 in order to award a new contract for a period of 5 plus 2 years from 01st April 2024.
DDICB will be undertaking a virtual market engagement event on the 14th April and will present the proposed specification, budget envelope and required performance indicators. This will also be an opportunity for stakeholders to raise any questions pertaining to the ICB's future intentions.
