two.2.4) Description of the procurement

NHS Lothian has a requirement for a Total Bed Management including lease of Electric Bed Frames (including CCU, Bariatric and Paediatric Care) to cover all inpatient requirements within its Hospitals where an Electrical Profiling bed is required. This contract will include the lease of Therapy Beds and Therapy Mattresses required for patient care. There will be a standard mattress specified which will also be required and priced as part of this Tender. In addition, there will be a requirement for some ad hoc purchases/ rentals, a full list of which is detailed in the TBM Commercial Schedule. This Total Bed Management contract will be awarded to a single supplier to provide and manage these assets and services including maintenance and parts. There will also be a requirement for ad hoc leasing of product i.e. spinal beds

The Total Bed Management contract consists of Products, Support Services, and Servicing and Maintenance. It is expected that the successful bidder must be able to maintain, service and offer the full range of parts and services detailed (with no exceptions) to support all products. The service will be required throughout NHS Lothian sites on a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year

List and brief description of selection criteria

Tenderers will be required to give details of their "General Yearly Turnover" for the past three years, or if the Tenderer has not been established for the duration specified please give details for the period since Start Up.

Contract value can be no more than 20% of annual turnover,

Insurance shall include as a minimum:

- Product liability Insurance in the sum of not less than the amount of TEN MILLION POUNDS STERLING (10,000,000);

- Employers’ liability insurance in compliance with applicable legislation and in any event not less than the amount of TEN MILLION POUNDS STERLING (10,000,000);

- Public liability insurance in the sum of not less than the amount of TEN MILLION POUNDS STERLING (10,000,000) in respect of any one incident or series of incidents;

- Insurance in the joint names of the Board and the Contractor against damage to the Beds and the Equipment from any normal commercially insured risks.
