NPL plans to procure an Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer (IRMS) for the measurement of isotope ratio in greenhouse gases for gaseous samples. The precision required for measurements are 0.01 ‰ for δ13C-CO2, 0.05 ‰ for δ18O-CO2, 0.02 ‰ for δ13C-CH4 and 1 ‰ for δ2H-CH4. Additionally the instrument should be able to remove scattered ions for high precision measurements of minor isotopes.

Please note that this is a Prior Information Notice, and the ITT is yet to be issued. NPL plans to issue the ITT in the next 12 months.
