In December 2020, NHS England entered into a commercial agreement with GRAIL to test and rapidly deploy their Galleri Multi-Cancer Early Detection (MCED) test. The agreement commits NHSE to deploy 1,000,000 Galleri tests across the years 2024 and 2025 on the condition that the interim results of the trial meet certain strict conditions. This programme has been termed the ‘Interim Implementation Pilot’. The success of the 2024 programme will be dependent on a delivery model that is underpinned by a high quality digital system to manage invitations, bookings and management of test results
