Digital Catapult is seeking to engage with an Open RAN System Integrator that has the capability to design, supply components, install, configure and commission an OpenRAN indoor network.
As part of the “Open Access” requirement, Digital Catapult must work with equipment, services and solutions from several vendors/manufacturers and does not want a position of exclusivity of supply from any one particular vendor/manufacturer, or a single-vendor solution.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement
Digital Catapult is establishing workstreams (WS) in 2022 and 2023 as follows:
WS1 - Building the Common Infrastructure (CI) and Reference Open RAN Mobile Networks (RORMN). The CI and the RORMN solutions are being procured separately. The Open RAN Mobile Network is covered in this procurement;
WS2 - Building the Test & Measurement Capability and vendor cohort integration and testing. This has been run as a separate procurement exercise.
The Open RAN element of WS1 will consist of an Indoor Mobile Network site in London.
To achieve an Open RAN based network on the site Digital Catapult is looking for an Open RAN System Integrator that has capability to design, supply, install, configure and integrate within the SONIC common compute and networking infrastructure.
The System Integrator shall supply all the Open RAN hardware, including radio units and cables, both fibre and ethernet, to connect radio units, as well as software-based components and related support services.
As part of the “Open Access” requirement, Digital Catapult must work with equipment, services and solutions from several vendors/manufacturers and does not want a position of exclusivity of supply from any one particular vendor/manufacturer, or a single-vendor solution.
