two.1.4) Short description

UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), based at the Culham Science Centre in Oxfordshire, hereafter referred to as the Purchaser, carries out research into the use of controlled fusion for the generation of power.

In support of the international ITER fusion experiment, under the ITER Robotic Test Facility (IRTF) scope of work, the Purchaser aims to demonstrate the feasibility of remote maintenance operations, that will be carried out within the ITER Hot Cell Complex (HCC).

This is being demonstrated through full-scale physical mock-up trials, at the premises of the Purchaser. The results of these trials will inform the final design of the relevant components and systems.

As part of this work, the manufacture and assembly of a mock-up Port Plug, Diagnostic Shield Module (DSM) and Diagnostic First Wall (DFW) and all associated fixings is required.
