Norfolk County Council are currently scoping our requirement for a multi supplier framework agreement for the provision of training and youth support services in the area of Kings Lynn, Norfolk, through the Kings Lynn Youth Retraining Pledge (KLYRP) project. As an integral part of the skills infrastructure for unemployed and lower skilled young people in the town, the project is establishing the Kings Lynn Skills Partnership, the ‘Skills Department’ for the Town which will deliver a wide range of employment & skills activity - driving forward Kings Lynn Town Improvement Plan ambitions, and increasing the skills and life opportunity for young inhabitants of the area. The KLYRP is establishing provision to address training gaps and to provide coordinating function for providers, employers and supporting organisations to also address workforce skills gaps - including a suite of industry-learning and re-training provision for young people aged 18-30, identifying transferable skills and increasing available provision, as well as improving access to that provision. The project has targets for more than 250 young people to gain an recognised qualification at Levels 1, 2 or 3, to improve their work readiness and employment opportunities in key sectors – whilst supporting them with their onward progression in the workplace through employer-inspired activity, and we are seeking interest from organisations wishing to deliver the training activity around those qualifications – with at least 450 young people expected to be engaged with the project, at some level, to improve their skills through new activity and learning.
