The University of Sheffield wishes to invite tenders for a 'Framework contract for the provision of laser metrology systems consumables and training services' on behalf of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, Castings Group at Catcliffe, South Yorkshire.
Scope of Requirement
The aim of the contract is to provide and install a range of equipment, materials and technical support to enable AMRC Cymru engineering team to deliver laser metrology solution that will:
• Be capable of achieving accuracies suitable towards aerospace tolerances,
• Accurately measure and inspect objects out of range (>10m) for a typical handheld 3D scanner yet still be portable between work zones,
• Be part of an automated robotic system capable of high-accuracy feature inspection. We currently utilise KUKA robotics
• Integrate with KUKA robot controllers for synchronised measurement of features (i.e. linking measurement data with robot position and orientation data)
• Include software capable of viewing and comparing both scanned objects and CAD files
• Include training on the use of laser tracking system, software and accepted codes of practice for metrology solutions.
