Within the County of Powys, there are 990km miles of county roads and 430km miles of trunk roads serviced during the winter months, the Council undertakes winter maintenance activities on these roads. There activities include snow clearance and the spreading of grit using a range of Council owned and hired vehicles and other equipment.

For the Council to undertake some of these activates, 6x4, 4x4 and 4x2 gritters are required and the Council’s intention is to hire these from a single source between September and April during the agreement period.

The Council is seeking to engage suitably experienced and qualified Supplier to enter into an agreement to provide to the Council with Gritting Vehicles for a period of four years.
