Section four. Procedure

four.1) Description

four.1.1) Type of procedure

Award of a contract without prior publication of a call for competition in the cases listed below

  • The services can be provided only by a particular economic operator for the following reason:
    • absence of competition for technical reasons

Explanation:

We have received the GOL from UKRI stating that the Maxcyte VLX system must be used.

Our role in this project is to optimise a process that has already been defined and tested between Oxford University, Maxcyte and Absolute Antibody. The Maxcyte equipment has to be used otherwise we would be changing the process, which we cannot do. The project needs to finish by March and if we use a piece of equipment that none of the partners are familiar with it will cause delays.

Our account manager at Maxcyte has also confirmed that they're the sole provider of Maxcyte products in the UK, as well as providing a supporting document stating why only Maxcyte products should be used with the VLX system.
