The current re procurement of MSK Pain Management and Rheumatology Services has had unforeseen delays and there must not be a gap in service provision for the population which would impact patients by deteriorating their current conditions. The current contract with the incumbent expires on 31st October 2025 and as a consequence there is a requirement to award a short term contract whilst the procurement concludes. The new contract will be for a further 7 months with an option to extend for a further 5 months from 01st April 2025 to 31st March 2026.

The current MSK Pain Management and Rheumatology Contract to provide the services to patients within NHS Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board (Basildon and Brentwood and Thurrock) will expire on 31st October 2025. The Urgent Award to the existing provider is to ensure that there is continued provision of MSK Pain Management and Rheumatology Services to the registered population of NHS Mid and South Essex Integrated Care Board (Basildon and Brentwood and Thurrock) whilst the procurement in place to award a new contract is concluded. There is a requirement to award a new short term contract for 7 months, with an option to extend for a further 5 months 01st April 2025 - 31st March 2026.
