The Contract will include the inspection and maintenance of North Lanarkshire Council’s existing traffic signal infrastructure e.g., poles, signal units, lamps, all pedestrian and vehicle aspects, detection units etc.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement
The contract will support the safe and efficient movement of traffic on the road network improving the economy as well as reducing the likelihood of road traffic accidents. The Contract will facilitate the inspection and maintenance of traffic assets. In terms of maintenance the services activities these will consist of inspections, and maintenance activities such as lamp failures, push buttons etc. but occasionally there is significant damage to some installations, mostly a result of road traffic accidents, which require civils assistance and which normally falls out with the requirements of the traffic signal maintenance service. However, to ensure that the Council has options in the event of this occurring, some civils rates have been included within the Contract. These will only be used in emergency situations.
