seven.2.1) Description of the modifications
Nature and extent of the modifications (with indication of possible earlier changes to the contract):
Extension of term by 6 months. Expiry date 30th September 2024. 2 previous extensions from May 22 to August 23 and from September 23 to March 24.

Need for modification brought about by circumstances which a diligent contracting authority/entity could not foresee.
Description of the circumstances which rendered the modification necessary and explanation of the unforeseen nature of these circumstances:
Possible introduction of the Deposit Return scheme was unforseen and directly impacts on this service as the kerbside collection service includes collection of glass / bottles from residents. The need for this extension is to allow time for a tender process to be undertaken knowing the current requirements. In addition due to the specialist nature of the vehicles required, a long implementation period is helpful to allow potential bidders time to obtain the specialist vehicles prior to commencement of service.
