two.1.4) Short description

The National Galleries Scotland (NGS) is seeking to appoint a sole Contractor, term maintenance contract for the Provision of Grounds & Winter Maintenance Services for all NGS sites. The Contractor will be responsible for providing all resources including labour, materials, plant and equipment to conduct the service activities required to be delivered.

The Contractor shall be required to apply modern horticultural techniques and practices which together with their own comprehensive expertise and experience, will manage and complete grounds and winter maintenance to rigorous standards of discipline, cleanliness and tidiness to achieve the requirements of the contract.

It is an expectation that the Contractor will hold or will be working towards ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14401 (Environmental Management) and Cyber Essentials Basic (or equivalent) certification.

If the Contractor does not already hold valid Cyber Essentials Basic (or equivalent) certification they must agree to obtain such within 3 months of a contract award.

The Contractor must hold valid Cyber Essentials Basic (or equivalent) certification throughout the duration of the contract.

In the event of unsatisfactory performance by the successful Service Provider and the termination of the contract by either party, NGS reserves the right to negotiate the continuance of the services with the second and third placed Service Providers.

The procurement will be conducted through the use of the Open (single stage) procedure.

Description of renewals

The contract duration will be for an initial 36-month period, with the option of two additional 12-month extensions, not exceeding 24 months; resulting in a possible maximum contract duration of 60 months. This is at the discretion of NGS.

Late SPDs and tenders may not be considered by National Galleries Scotland.
