Description

South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust are seeking to commission a service which will broaden the range of engagement activities and interventions available to the service users, families, and carers of our Community Mental Health Teams in Southwark.

Lot Lot 1. Lot 1 Social space for Black male service users

Description

This space will be a social group in which men can interact in a safe and culturally sensitive environment. Participants will share food together, play games, listen to music and share gifts and talents with each other - for those who like to do this.

Lot Lot 2. Lot 2 Emotional Emancipation Circles.

Description

This service will provide Emotional Emancipation Circles (EECs) in the community for people with a history of mental health difficulties to support their wellbeing. Emotional Emancipation Circles are an eclectic approach that supports Black people to know who they are and understand their history. The approach supports participants to attend to their self-care both physically and emotionally.

Lot Lot 3. Lot 3 Hearing Voices Group

Description

This service will adopt an approach developed by The Hearing Voices Network. The provider will deliver a group-based approach for people who self-identity as hearing voices. The approach is based on peer support, and will be co-facilitated by people with lived experience, or jointly by people with lived experience alongside people with professional experience of voice-hearing.

Lot Lot 4. Lot 4 Horticultural Activities

Description

This service will provide a soothing environment to help promote wellbeing and encourage psychological stability. This can also enable someone to make better use of therapy when it becomes available. The aim is to offer support in a non-medicalised space, and these initiatives are both psycho educational and holistic in approach

Description

This service will provide support to unpaid carers of individuals with mental health challenges. The service will address the significant emotional and practical burdens faced by carers, empowering them to maintain their wellbeing while continuing their caring roles.
