The programme will take a child/person centred approach to tackling serious violence, working with a range of local delivery partners to reduce group-based serious violent offending by working with those individuals who are most active, predominantly aged 14-25. This includes Greater Manchester Police and the wider Criminal Justice as key delivery partners, enabling implementation of an approach which recognises support and enforcement at the appropriate time as fundamental to implementing sustainable changes in levels of serious violent offending. The successful bidder will coordinate a broad collaboration including; GMP, Manchester City Council, Youth Justice, Probation, NHS, Complex Safeguarding and Local Community experts (mentors). They will provide the support package, grounded in a mentoring approach and based on developing trusted relationships that facilitate aspiration, to provide long-term reductions in serious violence that is rooted in group-based dynamics. There must be a seamless, person centred approach to delivery of Another Chance, with the provider able to work collaboratively with statutory, public and third sector organisations as delivery partners.
