This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) confirmation of contract award notice under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023.

NHS Devon sought to procure end of life overnight support care services. It is intending to award a contract of 12 months, with extension option of 7 months, commencing 01/04/2026 to Marie Curie - following Direct Award Process C of the Provider Selection Regime.

Lifetime value: This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) confirmation of contract award notice under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023.

The decision to award this contract in line with Direct Award Process C was based on evaluation against the 5 required key criteria, with weightings applied as follows:

Assessment of the provider was based on evidence available through their existing contract with the ICB, monthly performance and quality reporting, CRM minutes and review of Governance policies as well as annual reports/ finance checks and other externally published information.

the provider scored well for quality of delivery as reflected in their documented processes and feedback responses. They have evidenced an ability to deliver the service on an ongoing basis within tight financial restraints. Marie Curie are integrated appropriately with other relevant local provision, and have a strong history of research/ service development particularly in relation to inequalities. Some lower scoring areas were in relation to the impact of staffing shortages (not unique to this provider) but evidenced plans in place to address this.
