Peel Ports owns and operates six of the UK’s most important ports (Port of Liverpool, Heysham Port, Manchester Ship Canal, Medway (Sheerness / Chatham), Clydeport (Greenock, Hunterston, Ardrossan) and Great Yarmouth). It also operates a container terminal in Dublin.

In support of its ongoing operations, The Mersey Docks and Harbour Company Limited is engaging in market research with a view to launching a regulated procurement competitive tender process at a later date for the award of the restoration and upgrade to Seaforth’s S8-S10 Berths at the Port of Liverpool.

two.2.4) Description of the procurement

The aim of this periodic indicative notice is to give advance notice of the upcoming procurement prior to the release of the contract notice which is due in June 2024. Contractors are invited to provide early expressions of interest in relation to this opportunity.

This project is to restore the civils surface conditions to a newer status. The areas of focus vary across Seaforth’s S8 to S10 Berths and as such will be repaired at different levels. Additionally, the site’s Drainage and Electrical / Lighting Works will be restored and upgraded to meet the desired optimisation plans covering; laydown areas, traffic management systems, and access egress safe walkways across the site.

The principle construction tasks are as follows;

- Replace site facilities and remove disused buildings and foundations

- Relocate weighbridge

- Upgrade existing Drainage Network System

- Replace lighting including new power supplies

- Repave roadways with heavy duty concrete pavement

- Level storage areas and resurface
