Section four. Procedure

four.1) Description

four.1.1) Type of procedure

Award of a contract without prior publication of a call for competition in the cases listed below

  • The procurement falls outside the scope of application of the regulations

Explanation:

The University has a requirement for a Cytek Aurora Spectral Flow Cytometer 5L with customized SIT (special Sample Injection Tube, for on-fly drug delivery) a technology which uniquely combines the speed, sensitivity, quantity and multi-colour cytomics approaches with a unique combination of patent-pending innovative technologies that has a unique capability of measuring the entire emission spectra of the fluorescent dyes excited by multiple lasers installed on the instrument. The equipment offers extremely powerful new approaches for our research in microbiology, mycology infectious disease immunology, stem cell, environmental marine science, botanic and many more.

The specifications include the specially designed SIT to perform functional real-time assays such as Ca2+ measurement. APDs are highly sensitive semiconductor chips that provide more sensitivity and resolution.

Therefore, this system will be using the APD detector arrays for each laser (equipped with up to 16 channels per laser to capture the emission spectra of dyes that emit in the 365 to 830-nm wavelength range). This instrument is the only solution that can achieve all of the University's research needs.
