two.2.4) Description of the procurement

Bristol City Council is holding a supplier market engagement event on Wednesday 29th March (13.30 BST) for the Temple Island Enabling Works contract.

Temple Island is a prospective development site, predominantly owned by Bristol City Council (BCC) with a history of previous industrial use. The scope for Temple Island Enabling Works project is to address residual contamination across site, utilities reinforcement & infrastructure installation and provide structural fill across the site. These will provide a suitable development platform for a future mixed-use development on the Island.

The purpose of the event is to engage the construction market in advance of formal ITT by providing early information and background to the works to prospective contractors and gain an understanding of the market capacity / capability to deliver the scope of work. We intend to discuss the work packages required, the indicative programme and sequencing, and provide an overview of planned procurement and contracting approach.

After the event, BCC will be issuing a market engagement questionnaire to attendees. The responses will inform BCC and help to shape the inputs to the ITT, including the contracting approach and programme. Invitation to Tender is planned to be launched June 2023 with responses due August 2023.

Please contact Penny.Sharp@bristol.gov.uk to let us know your availability to attend the meeting (hosted virtually on MS Teams) including the name and role of each attendee. Full agenda and details of Teams link will be provided ahead of time.
